Change of Heart
Finished this peace of music on New Years Day and the inspiration came while out shooting the day before xmas with not a sole to be seen anywere.
I spent the whole day in fog and snow and loved every minuiet of it.
I wanted the music to reflect a sense of unease and yet not be too depressing.
Realy hope you like it;)

Don´t get lost
I have driven by this scene many, many times and happened to be on my way to Svanviks coast.
I´m shore many will regognise it. Seeing it in this winter light was a thrill and was already feeling a wonderful panic for what more I might find that day. A day out shooting can go very quickly when your having so much fun:)

Too quiet to whisper
I was still on my way to Svanvik and just had to go on a mini walk around this Nature-reservation. Will go back another day. The distant fog was giving that natural softness to the distance and making a dreamy atmousphere.
Although it was supposed to be warmer, it did not feel like it.
Transformation
I did not need to use the trypod the whole day and was aiming to keep that soft distance that was there in all the scenes.
This scene made me think of a saltplane or mine. How does that seawater manage to freeze?

Svanviks Dreamland
You can see the coastline ahead now, frozen sea and that clump of rock had one small house hidding from the sea wind.
I was on a tiny lane and popular route for a walk down from the village of Svanvik, lined with stunted woodland from the harsh coastal winds. The clear open feilds looked all the more welcoming and could not wait to arrive on the shoeline.

The day before Xmas
Heres another taken just before arriving at Svanvik. It´s a merge of 2 shots, wanting that forground and also the squaire format that I enjoy so much.
I just wanted to wander off into the mist, yet spent the best part of the day doing just that;)

Winters come
I cannot spell the right name of the nature reservation at Svanvik; yet Rasso reservation is as close as we will get without the special symbols!
A bit further round the coastline, yet still Svanvik. Here I put my life on the line several times; as the rocks I was climbing over were covered in ice under the snow.
Below was the black cold water of the sea waiting for me to slip-in camera and all.

Svanviks bay
My first glimps of Svanviks coastline and it seemed a peaceful place. The low set horizons and shades of pastel in the snow all helped to calm you down.
I could understand Anja wonting a sommer house here.

Sea of green
Just how far could I go? I managed to get round here without falling in, yet this was the better shot this time round.
The green algy was still giving
some great colour and textures,
while the currents made sculptures of the ice below.

Crow
There is going to be one shot called "Crow" sooner or later!
Taken from the car window, yes! I could see this coming for ounce and could prepaire the camera and then do a drive-by as they flew off.
Just lucky having one in the forground - or was it planing:)

Maybe not the most attractive
shot, my first thought was the sea 50 years from now!
Yet thought it was sereal to look at.
The thought of walking out to that island crossed my mind, ounce I had got my thoughts of polution out of my head!
Yet this was realy thin ice.

Pride of place
Not the best of names...well, what would you have called this?!
One of the better points for walking on and around the coast is the fact that it´s on sea level! Yet, you would be supprised at just how much climbing, jumping, hopping and sinking you have done by the end of the day.
Was it worth it.... yes!

The land below
This amazing view is found opposite my work and I can look up the river from my office window, so many walks are made by this river that runs into lake Aspen.
In the winter the water is as black as ink and the contrast with the snow was very powerful.

thoughts of Svanvik
I realy messed up my days after Xmas and thought sunday was monday! I was up and off to work to find a dark building and empty car park waiting for me!...
The prevailing comma did not last long; I was realy happy about being up early, why I here you gasp, ah, why the awsume conditions for some black and white photography. A rare combination of events that cannot be egnored... even if it was *^¨.-/ cold...
1. Being free
2. Always love the coast in the winter
with the right amount of new snow.
3. Just the right amount of fog.
4. To go to a freinds sommer house location were I had not been before.
Finaly...
5. A car with a newly charged battery!
